Giveaway: What Shall I Wear?

My favorite piece of clothing right now is my rubber boots. They are lined with fleece and come up to my knees. I love them because they allow me to where skirts and not freeze or get wet on my daily walk from bus to work. This let’s me wear more of my hand made creations, so that makes me happy.

My favourite piece of clothing is thick handknit socks given to me by a friend that her mom made. I love knit socks; knit socks made for me by someone else are even better.

I love very simple clothing, so my favorite shirt for the past few months is a soft black cotton v-neck renfrew with long sleeves.

Well, my favorite piece of clothing at the moment is a red long sleeves dress (my first homemade dress) made with a nice fabric I bought for about 6 dollars (just in case I have to throw it away… but it seems to become nice, up to now)

My favourite item of clothing right now is this 12ft long red varriigated wool scarf a friend made for me. It’s absurdly long and looks mostly ridiculous while warn but it just feels so comfyand warm. It is what everyone should be wearing on those -20c Canadian winter days.

What a fabulous giveaway! My current favourite pieces of clothing are my tattoo print macaron, and my black suede brothel creeper shoes , they go with everything.

Right now I’m loving a thing I’ve just finished knitting, it’s a bit like an oversize bolero. It’s called “by popular demand”, and is fabulous. Half shawl, half bolero, entirely lovely:)

My fav thing to wear is a pair of handmade pants that my husband chose for me – bought at a market in Melbourne. They have the cutest little scalloped flap at the back with a self covered button that is so cute that everyone just wants to push it! (some do…!)

Oooo my fav piece of clothing is my Colette colour block Peony I just finished! I love it, so pleased I found a fabric that’s this seasons colour! I’m actually on trend for once!:-)

My favorite thing is a dark grey knit top with square neck and cranberry color side panels. It’s the 1st knit garment I’ve ever made- with my new serger! It fits me perfectly too!

Favorite piece of clothing…. Would have to be a dark turquoise 3/4 sleeve cardigan with ructions on the sleeve. Not me-made, although I really need to make it a companion before it falls apart!

My favorite piece of clothing right now is a pair of grey boots that I bought for myself from Zappos as a treat for working on a recent Saturday. I love them — so comfy right out of the box and I love how grey is neutral and pairs well with so many colors.

My favorite piece is an paper bag waist skirt I just made. I had this really full long skirt in an awesome ikat print that was my grandma’s, so I refashioned it and love it. It was so easy too, so I need to make some more paper bag skirts.

My favourite article of clothing right now are my hand-knit shawls, made with natural fibres they don’t give me a sweaty neck walking to work and back every day!

I have two favourites: woolen knitted socks. I don´t use any other socks in the winter.

Hi Sarai–My current favorite piece of clothing is a long cream colored cardigan–bought on sale a couple of years ago at Coldwater Creek for $5!!! I wear it with jeans, dress slacks and skirts/dresses. Just the right weight to keep me warm.

My favorite piece of clothing is a brown hoodie I bought years ago. It is falling apart now, so I’m going to have to replace it. Hopefully I can find something a bit less casual – and handmade.

What a nice giveaway! My favorite clothing right now is a full-skirted dress made from a 1950’s pattern. I made it out of a length of yellow cotton with a floral design that featured petals outlined in gold metallic thread. It was too bright, so I dyed it with Rit black, which reliably gives me my favorite shade of dark lavender-grey. The metallic thread didn’t take the dye, so the dress has a bit of sparkle against the subdued background. It’s perfect over brown boots and a brown petticoats.

This is probably kind of sad, but my favorite piece of clothing right now is my flannel pajama pants and t-shirts. I’ve been sick, and being warm and cozy in my PJs underneath a couple of quilts I’ve made, binging on M*A*S*H has been really nice.

What a great give-away. My favorite piece of clothing, now and probably of all time, is an early ’60s cotton Alix of Miami sundress I have, with big purple flowers, an amazingly pieced bodice, and a full skirt. I got it 7ish years ago. It gets a wear or two a year now – littles are hard on vintage – but I love it.

My favourite dress is a berry coloured lace dress. I wish I could make something like this, but my skills aren’t quite there yet!

My favorite piece at the moment is a black Anise-like jacket from Anthropologie – it’s the perfect finishing touch for this winter

It changes on a daily basis but I guess my favourite piece of clothing today would be my ‘Tilly & the Buttons’ inspired Picnic blanket skirt! It’s super comfy, and the fabric pattern has a great 1950’s housewife look about it!

Thank you for the giveaway! Right now my favourite piece is a simple black miniskirt (made by me). I’m a SAHM at this time, but when I have enough of comfortable loungewear -and it happens to be often- , I just take on my black mini, and I feel better, nicer, happier.

I am trying to get into sewing garments and am intimidated but hopeful. I don’t really have a favorite piece of clothing, my body doesn’t want to fit comfortably into anything off the rack, and trying on clothes is just frustrating (I know, shocker right? None of you know how this feels I’m sure).

A maxi dress I made just before Christmas – first time I’d spliced two patterns together, and I fiddled with it a bit more so I can feed my baby. Christmas is summer where I live and a long, cool dress to feed in has been so useful. It’s really built my sewing confidence to know I can try something new and end up with clothes exactly how I want them.

I’m all about high-waisted pants in a cigarette leg length. I just cut a pair out last night to sew this weekend.

My favourite right now is a vintage almost-circle skirt from the 1950s made of a kind of bark cloth (very soft now with age) with a wonderful bullfighting scene on it. Very Guys & Dolls, and it makes me feel quite glamorous.

I have a new yellow coat and I love it. I did not make it but I wear it with a knitted beret and a ridiculously enormous cowl, and I did make those.

I’m wearing it right now – a silk kimono top I made over the holidays. When I went to the cutting counter I asked the clerks if this fabric was crazy? or fabulous? FABULOUS, he screamed! “It looks like the night!” It does, it looks like what lights and neon would look like through a rain soaked window. Golden, black, fucshia, greens… Did I say silk?!

I would have to say good fitting khaki chinos…..they can be dressed up or down and always look nice! The book looks great….classic/timeless information!

Right now I love a navy dress with a surplice top and pockets I picked up in an outlet in Las Vegas. It makes me feel fine even when I’m having a body-challenged day.

My friend is doing her dissertation research in Mongolia, and she gave me some Mongolian wool felted slippers for Christmas that are awesome – they get more wear lately than anything else I own. I’m also working on my first tailored jacket (!) but it’s not done yet – I hope it will be a favorite!

A crocheted green sweater from Goodwill. It’s reversible for goodness sakes. Why someone gave it to Goodwill I’ll never know.

can we stretch this to accessories? if so it has to be my huge turquoise and orange shawl. I knitted it out of wool I’d had in my stash for years and its incredibly bright and co zy. it doesn’t go with anything I own but I wear it all the time because it makes me happy.

My favourite piece of clothing is actually, probably, the leopard print poly satin pyjamas that I picked up in a discount store about 10 years ago. They’re not brilliantly made but they’ve lasted really well, with only some minor pilling betraying their age. I got them when I was about eleven, and for most of my life prior to that I’d desperately wanted a pair of leopard print pyjamas! My mum had even started making me some (from a very 80s pattern), but by the time they were finished I’d grown out of them…

My favourite thing at the moment is a dress I made. It’s an Ottobre magazine pattern in a stretch fabric. I really concentrated and it is so comfortable and comforting to wear.

My current piece I can’t stop wearing is this flouncy circle skirt (it’s grey with pale pink, tiny polka dots and has an attached black lace slip. It’s lovely). I have to restrain myself from wearing it two days in a row.

The chiffon maxi-dress I made last week in two hours while my daughter was sleeping! Anyone who says that things can’t make you happy never made a chiffon paint-splatter dress and wore it out that night in 30-degree Celsius heat.

Oh yea! My favorite article of clothing right now are my Cole Haan black talia pumps. They are barely 9 months old and I already had to replace the tips. They are so comfortable that I can literally wear them all day – sometimes I find myself vacuuming in heels!

This is such a boring answer but my favourite thing to wear is a plain white long-sleeved jersey top that I made. It feels so nice to wear. It’s soft, spacious and stretchy! Hmm, maybe I need the ‘What Shall I wear?’ book to prevent me from only wearing monochrome stretchy clothes for the rest of my life!
