So hard to choose from! I tried to stick with what the pattern suggested, so nothing too drapey. I liked this: http://www.hartsfabric.com/anna-sui-fashion-fabric58506.html, a black and white wool blend. I think it would work great for the winter and can be accessorized with so many different colors!

I think the Peony dress would look awesome in the Hart’s Stretch Bamboo Spandex Knit Fabric – Rust. It would be comfortable enough for work, and dressed up with a fall coloured silk scarf, held in place with a hand made stone pin, you could wear it to an evening event, or even an afternoon wedding. You could do sew much to accessorize the dress for any occasion.

As it’s spring where I am now, I’d make a short sleeved version in eyelet fabric (http://www.hartsfabric.com/eyelet-fabric-fashion52918.html) because I think that the tailored, crisp and simple shape of the Peony would set off the delicate and interesting fabric. I’d give it a pink (pale or hot) polycotton sash to add some colour! I think it would really be nice. :)

Once I clicked on the Fashion Fabric page and saw this Green Dot Drapey Woven Matka print I knew that I wanted a Peony in that fabric. A simple design in a wild pattern that also adds one of my favorite colors to my wardrobe. Surprisingly I don’t have many dresses with short sleeves and none in green. Sarai it’s your fault: I took half an hours to look at all theses beautiful fabric ;-)
I can’t narrow my choice and I have print (funny, sunny, surprising ones) in mind with the beld in on of the color of the print.
First funny monkey with a belt in the color of the monkey face: http://www.hartsfabric.com/blue-monkey-flannel-64347.html
Then contemplative japanese wawv: http://www.hartsfabric.com/hemp-fabric-organic-cotton59881.html
Happy spring japanese flowers with a withe belt: http://www.hartsfabric.com/nani-iro-fashion-apparel-fabrics-cotton-double-gauze-fabric62034.html or if you feel It’s too much down it with this other version of the same fabric ( http://www.hartsfabric.com/fashion-apparel-cotton-fabrics-nani-iro-double-gauze-fabric62031.html ), but it will definitively not be my first choice…
Another choice can be this intriging paisley probably with a white belt to: http://www.hartsfabric.com/dewberry-heirloom-voile-62741.html
Thanks Sarai I spend a really relaxing and happy time broswing all theses fabric just after children bedtime. I will have a sweet night, no doubt!

I would love the Peony, with 3/4 sleeves, as a Christmas dress (although I’d be WAYYYY overdressed in my family!) in the red embroidered silk: http://www.hartsfabric.com/silk-fabric-fashion59212.html
For something I’d wear more often, I’ve been eying the Joel Dewberry Heirloom line, especially the “Blockade Blossom” print in amethyst. I also think the Nani Iro Molly Cloth in Blue Floral is really pretty. Not sure what “molly cloth” is, but I think it would work for this dress.

I haven’t sewn myself any clothes in ages, but I keep looking at this pattern and thinking about it!
