This week: Are you ready for Fall?
It seems like Fall is lurking just around the corner around here.
I’m trying to take advantage of summer while it lasts. Last weekend, we went for an amazing hike up on Mount Hood, where wild huckleberries are currently plentiful. The waterfalls were gorgeous, and I brought my sketchbook to capture some of the incredible alpine wildflowers that abound.
When we got home, I baked these lemon huckleberry scones from the huckleberries we picked. I used my favorite vegan cream scone recipe as a base, but replaced the earth balance with coconut oil, which worked great.
I hope you all get a chance to enjoy the season this weekend. As much as I look forward to fall every year, it’s always a little hard to say goodbye to the sunshine.

How self-centered of me to forget about you lovely southern hemisphere folks! In my defense, all I can think about is releasing our Fall patterns soon. :)

How many more days do we have to wait to see the new designs? Now that football is in full swing and labor day in the US has past, I am really revving up for fall sewing!

Less than a week now! They’ve already been released to retailers so they can get them in stock for the official launch on Thursday. :)

Saw the other post and can’t wait. Does that mean they will be for sale on your website the same day as the first meet and greet?

Yes, fall is definitely in my thoughts and feelings. Plotting great winter clothes while having as many lattes out in the sun as September will allow. We had a pretty dismal summer here in Germany, so I’m up for autumn and winter if they behave like they should.

I’ve been so ready for fall! Thankfully the 90F heat can’t keep me from busting out my fall colored pieces a bit early.

Mount Hood looks so beautiful – looking at your photos makes me realise how much I need a break from the city! Today in London the skies are bright blue and there’s a definite autumn crispness to the air which gets me pretty excited for Autumn!

Fall for you spring for us; we can smell it in the air. Sewing for spring and summer because I know it will be too hot come December to do anything but swim in the harbour. Here’s to the change in seasons!

I’m a displaced Oregonian living in Minnesota. I miss going over Mt Hood to visit my parents in Wasco. Loved picking “hackleberries” as my daughter use to call them.

Yes, I am sincerely ready for fall. I was not made for the 90+ degree weather we have down here in North Carolina, and autumn is like being able to breath fresh air fo the first time in months.

Right now I am missing Oregon and the beautiful waterfalls…just sitting and sweating under the hot Hungarian sun, no water to be seen, no rain for three months and a drier summer than I can ever remember. Patiently waiting for fall…

Not quite yet. Summer over here was worse than awfull so it feels as if I’ve missed something – enough sunlight and time spent outdoors.
I just wonder whether there will be another fall palette challenge once the new patterns are out..
