July Needlework Night, A Thank You Note
I just wanted to quickly thank the lovely ladies who showed up for July’s Needlework Night. While Sarai and I were mostly caught up in their great conversation and our hemming work, we managed to snap a few great photos to share with you all.
There were a lot of embroidery and crosstitch projects in progress, as well as one knitting project. Sarai and I were actually a bit disappointed we had to hem out Hawthorns when we saw all of their beautiful handsewing!
Delicious homemade drinking vinegar brought by one of our guests. So refreshing on a hot day!
Polish pastry brought by another guest. What a treat!
We look forward to meeting more of you at our next Needlework Night!

Looks like so much fun! And I’d love that recipe for homemade drinking vinegar, please…it’s HOT & HUMID here in DC & we need all the refreshments we can get our hands on. Thanks!

I wish there was somewhere near me that did this, it looks like so much fun. Also, WHAT is drinking vinegar, it’s definitely not something we have in the UK.

Thanks so much for the lovely night, Sarai! Looking forward to more!
I brought the drinking vinegar, or ‘shrub,’ and we made it using this guide, with fresh strawberries and apple cider vinegar. We tried the cold press method this time, and it was great!

It’s a delicious way to sip something refreshing and non-alcoholic on a hot afternoon!

I had a wonderful time meeting everyone! Thanks for making my first visit to Portland memorable! I also visited Knittin’ Kitten and bought a big bag of trims, and a vintage linen tablecloth that I made into a camisole at Donna and Toots open sew (sweet shop on SE Division). I love Portland!

Hi! Will you be hosting an August needlework night? I didn’t make it to the July night because we were just too new to the Portland area, having moved here in early July! I’m very much a beginner sewist, but it’s your pattern line that inspired me to start learning!

Thing big, once you think about your drawers, because that’s normally
the first place where storage space is never enough. Cabinets should have solid
frames, door and drawer fronts, reinforced corners and closed backs.
Practically everything in connection with kitchen revolves around a cabinet.
