Coming Soon: The Seamwork Annual

The November issue of Seamwork Magazine marked our one year birthday. It has been an inspiring, challenging, and incredibly gratifying journey. The joy (and sometimes the pitfall) of working on a monthly publication is the fast pace cycling of ideas and content. By the time an issue debuts, we are already in the thick of the new issue.

Working on such a huge range of projects, techniques, and topics is so inspiring. It can be challenging to reflect on the evolution and growth of Seamwork.

For a while we have been contemplating how to bring Seamwork to our community of amazing retailers and directly into your hands.

coming-soon

We are happy to announce that this Holiday season we are releasing Seamwork Annual 2015. The Annual is the best of the last year of Seamwork, as well as some great new features and projects, all in a beautifully printed book.

Sarai herself said it best in the most recent Seamwork newsletter:

“The great thing about putting together a retrospective like this is that it’s helped us to take a look at all we’ve done and how much we’ve grown over the last year. Over 25 patterns, tons of photo shoots, amazing new writers, Seamwork Radio… it’s a lot. And it’s pretty cool.”

What you can expect to see:

  • Micro hacks for our most popular Seamwork patterns
  • The best of the year’s personal essays
  • A tutorial for three customizable stocking caps
  • Our favorite tutorials from the year
  • New Handmade Beauty projects
  • A special Gluhwein recipe
  • The book is over 100 pages, and includes a special holiday photoshoot featuring some of our best-selling designs.

I would love a pdf version too :) it’s really expensive to get things shipped to Denmark. Thanx for a great magazine! I love it :)

E-book/ PDF format would suit me very well. I live in regional Australia with no Colette stockists nearby.

Unfortunately, at this time we do not have plans to make a pdf version available. This is something we will take into consideration when creating other printed material in the future.

This sounds great! As a new subscriber, just curious if there will also be a December issue of Seamwork, and if not, will billing just skip next month? Congratulations on a great year.

I am so excited for the annual as I am a new subscriber who is loving what I have received from Seamwork the last two months – it is exactly the sort of subscription I have been looking for. Hope it will be available in the UK….

I also can’t wait to hold it in my hands! (And I have to add that I hate PDFs. Spending $25 to print out a pattern/etc. just isn’t my idea of “bang for a buck”!)

If you’re spending more than $5 to print a pattern, you’re doing it wrong! Find a reprographics shop in your area, NOT a big-name copy shop. Even in central London, I’ve found places who print at £1.50 a sheet, and it’s similar elsewhere in the world. Places that regularly print for architects are well versed in cheap, large format B&W prints with no scaling.

Will all the Seamwork patterns from the past year be coming with the book?

Haley

November 19, 2015 #

The book will not contain patterns, but it will feature tutorials on modifying some of our most popular patterns.

Hi Haley,
For the loyal Seamworks subscribers who won’t be able to purchase a print copy due to geographical location (Tasmania for me) it would be great to still be able to get the pattern hacks. Here’s hoping :)
