Her post about the dress: Completed: Colette’s Ceylon Dress

What kind of fabric did you use? Lightweight 100% cotton pin dot shirting.

How did you decide to reflect your personal style in the pattern? I piped the waistline seams (hips and underbust) and sleeve hems with handmade white piping. I used self-covered buttons. Oh, and I made the inside pretty, too – finishing the facings with white bias tape and catchstitching the hem with pretty white lace.

What thoughts do you have about the project? I love this dress and I really enjoyed the process of making it. I plan on making another one with lightweight wool (crepe? maybe?) in a bright color and making a matching self-covered belt :)

Thanks, Lauren!

Lovely job. The covered buttons and piping really make it something special. I love that sewing enables us to pick out all those little details to make each pattern our own.

That is so pretty! I love the piping detail and this shade of blue compliments your skin tone and hair colour really, really well.
