Negroni giveaway!

To help celebrate Celebrate the Boy month (is that redundant?), we’re doing a little giveaway for a free Negroni men’s shirt pattern.

This is a really great pattern for learning some new techniques around sewing for guys. And as a bonus, if you need a little extra help, cheerleading, and inspiration, Peter is still doing an awesome Sew-along with this pattern!

All you have to do to win is post a comment and let me know who you’d like to make the Negroni for (whether it’s yourself or someone else). I’ll keep the comments open for 24 hours, then choose a winner using a random number generator. Good luck!

I would sew the shirt for my boyfriend. I made him one about a year ago, and while it was a fun and good sewing lesson for myself, I wasn’t entirely happy with the construction methods suggested, or the final fit… Using your pattern would take it up a notch!

I’d make the pattern for my boyfriend….I already “owe” him a shirt, so it’d be perfect!

I would sew this shirt for my husband. In fact, I would do two versions: one in this wool flannel for inside and another in a thick wool for an outside version of “work shirt”.

I’m single (everyone who sews has a hubby/bf it seems!) so I’d make this for my dad!

I’d make it for my husband of 8 years, Austin.

I would love to make this for my husband. I also have four brothers, though, and this would be great for birthdays.

Oh, I would love this pattern! I make most of my son’s dress shirts and would love to make some coordinating ones for his daddy!

Caroline

February 18, 2011 #

This would be great for my husband because I could tailor it to fit his skinny shoulders and monkey arms. He’d finally have a shirt that fits! And I second Serena that this would be a great gift for my brother/dad.

I’d like to make something for my dad. I’ve given my mom all sorts of things: things for her sewing room, things for her wardrobe, and curtains/pillows/wall-hangings for her house. My dad is always very generous with me (the other day he gassed up my car and washed it with no prompting whatsoever, i know, so sweet)and it seems time to turn the tables on him!!

My husband would love a Negroni! Shirts are his fav items of clothing and I think he would enjoy picking a fabric and having a say on the details. I would definitely make it for him first – and maybe a scaled-down, more feminine one for me later!

I’d make this for my hubby, it’s always hard to find things to sew for him. After that though, i’d make one for my dad because he LOVES these kinds of shirts.

Would definitely make this for my husband. Poor fella is begging for something besides little toddler girl goodies to come off the sewing machine!

I would make this for my husband, and then for my two teenage sons! It would be fun tailoring the pattern, fabric and details to suit each of their unique personalities!

Yes please! I would make this for my husband. We are going to be missionaries in Africa, so it would be great to have a pattern so I can make good-fitting shirts for him myself!

I’d make this for my boyfriend, who has trouble finding reasonably-priced shirts that fit him well. I’ve been wanting to make him one for years, but hadn’t found the right pattern until now!

I’d sew it for my boyfriend. he’s reaaaally skinny, and always struggles to find a shirt that fits him perfectly. so I guess this would be a great solution.

I would make this shirt for my husband, Nathanael, who lives in button downs and Fedoras. Seriously, take a look at my latest post, he even gardens in them. He’s just not a T-Shirt guy!

Leah

I would make this shirt for my older brother, Alejandro! He lives in LA and he is hopelessly hip and I know I would make this in a very hipster plaid and he would love it! And at all of his LA parties he could say, this was custom made for me. And everyone would be insanely impressed. The perfect gift!

My husband is 6’9″. All of his shirts are rolled up at the sleeves. I’ve been meaning to make shirts for him for years, but the kid usually gets the sewing attention. A pattern (with lengthened sleeves, naturally) might change all this.

I made an embarrassingly bad-fitting shirt for my boy two years ago, off a poorly-drafted big 4 pattern, and man, has my sewing come a long way since then…I’d love another chance!

After all, he actually encourages my desire to put piping on everything: what more could a sewist ask for?

Leah

I’d make one for my husband. He’s been begging me to make him a shirt and his wardrobe needs help!

I would definitely make this shirt out of several patterns and solids for my wonderful hubby! I’m always sewing for me or the kids but haven’t found anything for the man of the house. This would be terrific and he’d love it! Thank you for the chance to win.

I have to admit…I had never even considered sewing for my husband prior to this post! So, were I to win, I would make it for him. BTW – I love the collaboration of all these great sites right now. Thank you for all the amazing work!

All the men in my life! My husband for patiently putting up with me and my sewing without usually getting anything, except maybe a button sewn back on. My brother-in-law who loves homemade gifts. And my dad who never asks for anything. I wish there was more things out there for men!

February 18, 2011 #

I’d love to make this for my husband. And, really, I’d like to make it for him to learn the techniques, and then turn it into a shirtdress for me. I’m not a girl that easily fits into button up things off the rack, and this shirt looks like it’d make a great plaid dress for this Texas girl to wear with her boots. Thanks for the giveaway!

Megan

February 18, 2011 #

I would make that for my husband. He would love it!

Karen LePage

February 18, 2011 #

Oh I would make this for my nearly-man-son who is 13 but LOVES custom-made clothing and loves to stand out in a crowd. He’s already chosen the fabric.

February 18, 2011 #

Since I made a flannel, plaid bathrobe years ago for the SO — perfectly matched plaids and beautiful hand felled seams (first project for both techniques) — and HE LOST IT, I won’t be making a Negroni shirt for him, but for ME. After this fiasco and the never-worn vests, yeah, I think I’m justified in my decision. With a free pattern … eh, I could cave. Who couldn’t use a warm shirt with the hail-ish weather we’ve had?

Abbey

I would make it for my husband! Ive never sewn anything for him before but would love to give it a try.

I sew for our children and my husband always asks when I’m going to sew something for him. I’d really like to sew him this shirt since, I mean…..how many husbands beg their wives to sew them something? :) He’d look great in this shirt and making him one handmade would be great since he’s so tall. Shoping in normal stores is sometimes hard for my tall guy. :) Thanks for the giveaway!

February 18, 2011 #

Phew! Still time to ask you to count me in! I’d love to make this shirt for THE man: my sweetheart loves traditional plaid shirts, so I’m sure this would make his day (and more than a day, I hope!)
Thanks for the chance!
