Sarai’s back from her trip! She returned to the studio and is hard at work on some fun blog posts for y’all. I brought in some pretty irises from my yard to welcome her back. I love having flowers around! Sarai took a break and snapped this silly photo of me at the computer:
I’m planning on spending some time in my garden this weekend as well as working on my final garment for the palette challenge. Do you have any plans for the long weekend (it’s Memorial Day weekend in the U.S.)? Anyone finished with their palette challenge or close to it?

Tilly’s post about choosing the right size pattern is great, particularly her demonstration of measuring the pattern, but it should be noted that you will generally get a more accurate fit by using your high bust measurement when you are larger than a C cup. I personally am a G cup and find that following my actual bust measurement often puts me into a size 22 or 24! Using the high bust measurement I can usually cut a size 16 and make modifications for my larger bust. Otherwise I’d have an armscye that is far too low and a shoulder that is far too big. The same is true of my lower half, as my waist measurement is actually a 14 and my hips are an 18. A high hip measurement is often more helpful, enabling me to take in the waist and adjust for the larger hip measurement.

Like you guys I will be doing some gardening, I’m a bit behind due to all the rain we had here in MD in early May. I’m probably not going to do any sewing except to repair my neighbors shirt he brought me today….hoping to go camping in the mountains, and get ready to go back to Cosmo school! Happy Memorial Day girls!

With the paint cans used as cubbies, I’ve done a similar thing but with old formula cans. All my sewing supplies are put in each one. Super useful and they come with an easily removable lid. Better to reuse than buy new right?
