September Favorites

Fall fever is officially upon us. In the fashion (and sewing!) world, September is the month that fall begins. Meaning that you are probably inundated with a million fall trends, fall recipes, and of course, fall color palettes.

Maybe it is the rebel in me, but I have been in love with non-traditional fall color palettes this month. Faded hues feel like the perfect compliment to a fall wardrobe, and incidentally, they look great with saturated autumnal shades.

Thanks for introducing me to Alison Jean Cole! I love those earrings! Another fun new person to follow ;)
Also love those colors in the first pic from J. Crew. Agree that saturated and pale, washed out colors are great together. Thanks for the inspiration!

The more I see the Tessa jeans, the more I want to give them a try. In reading the pattern/fabric details, it seems that a denim without stretch is the best for this pattern. Can you confirm? I want to choose wisely and love them!

Hi Mary Kaye, the Tessa jeans were designed with nonstretch fabrics in mind, but you can definitely use a stretch denim if you prefer your jeans with a little stretch. If you do choose to sew Tessa with a stretch denim, pay close to the finished measurement chart—it can even be helpful to compare measurements with a pair of stretch jeans you love. I hope this helps. We can’t wait to see your version of the Tessa jeans!

What fabric is the cropped Hayden?

It is a really lovely washed tencel that we found locally. Harts has something similar in a few different colors.

If I want to lengthen this to a duster length, is there a special way of doing that? I love the black and white version with the Tessa jean. EEEK I need that in my life!!! I have a few sweater knits hanging out in my stash and when I saw that in duster length I thought it would be perfect.
