Inspirational Details: Surface Cording

You have so many choices with surface cording! You can use the same fabric as your garment, or change up the colors with store bought or handmade cording. Make your own with this Surface Cording Tutorial, which also shows you how to apply cording on a garment. For the Peony dress you can go any direction with cording, simple loops or fancy designs. It would also look really cute to apply the cording on the edge of the sleeves.

I hope you’ve enjoyed these posts on adding details to the Peony dress. Please share any ideas you have in the comments or in the forum!

For that cording you use multi-hued rat tail (of course, available at my favorite fabric store, Vogue Fabrics). I’ve seen in bright neon hues…which would be so of the moment, and really pop out on a dress.

Hi Sarai,
Le détail ajouté sur la robe a son charme. It’s a good idea!
Why not? Il peut se décliner à l’infini.
Have a good day!
