Curvy Colette: A Plus size blog tour from The Curvy Sewing Collective
Recently, Jenny of Cashmerette and Mary of Idle Fancy decided to do something about the lack of representation they saw in the sewing blog world for curvy women. They got together with several other amazing bloggers and started The Curvy Sewing Collective.
I’m thrilled that one of the first projects they’re embarking on as a group is a blog tour for our new patterns!
Today, Jenny is kicking it off with her fabulous Moneta.
She’ll also be sharing her new Mabel (which I’ve seen a preview of, it’s lovely) on the 24th. And there are plenty of other stops along the way!
The full line-up
Wed 16 – Jenny at Cashmerette
Thurs 17 – Mary at Idle Fancy
Friday 18 – Jenny at Cashmerette & Mary at Idle Fancy share interviews with me and Alyson
Sat 19 & Sun 20 – Laurence at QuirkyPrettyCute
Monday 21 – Tanya at MrsHughes
Tuesday 22 & Wed 23 – T at uandmii
Thurs 24 – Jenny at Cashmerette
Friday 25 – Mary at Idle Fancy
Wed 30 – Mary at YoungBroke&Fabulous
So subscribe to their blogs and see them unveil their curvy creations in the next 2 weeks!
If you follow me on Twitter, I’ll also be tweeting out links to these gals each day of the tour, so that’s another option for following along.
I want to thank Jenny and Mary for dreaming up this partnership, I’m so thrilled to collaborate with these gorgeous, talented bloggers.

I love it! I felt terribly when I promised to sew my mom a jacket and found practically no patterns that she could wear and she isn’t even that far off from the envelope sizes. I did my best with TONS of alterations, so I love that these ladies make SUCH beautiful clothes which must be tough at times. Brava!

It’s been such a great couple of weeks! Thanks for working so hard on a new pattern block, it has made a lot of ladies feel better about themselves, and it will have such a positive impact on their body image!!!
By the way, the Moneta is such a great fit, and I am curious about the Mabel (I still have to finish it off :) )

Fabulous! I can’t wait for my new book and patterns to arrive. I just ordered them yesterday. It’s so fun to see them made up in different colors and sizes.
I will make the dress as soon as I get it!
And I would love to win this little gem too.

I gave up sewing for myself when I stopped fitting in to the pattern envelope sizes of regular patterns. I’m not an older woman and I didn’t want to sew matronly clothes for myself. I’ve loved Colette’s patterns for a long time but they don’t work for my size. Not anymore! I was just wondering when someone would get a clue that they are missing out on a good portion of the market by limiting pattern sizes. WTG, Colette! :))
